how do you submit a site to google?

You really don't have to submit sites to Google, do you? Doesn't the Googlebot just wander around following links and mapping pages thus creating its own submissions?

That's what I sorta said in my previous post, but decided iCraig had answered it, so I just said ignore me :p

That's the thing. Get some people linking to you.

I've seen sites appear in Google after only a few hours once linked to a decent site.

Stick a link into your signature, the GoogleBot crawls the forums now and again.

Clearly the answer is to spam the forums with links asking people to tell you what they think of your site when the true motive is to get it crawled. :p

Yes... would you like to urm... critique my site? :o

Oh cool, is linking the new 'in' thing?

Yes and no. Relevant linking is.

But the link will only to help him appear on Google, however I doubt it will help his PR.

pagerank will go up after it's been listed on dmoz, even if only by one point.

another of my sites went from 0-3 in a few months after being listed on dmoz. still not massive, but better than nothing. :)
