OK i run it to find max core as 472mhz and max memory as 380mhz. If i try and even run 460mhz core it will only run 233mhz memory grrr.

Whats the best sort of setup? How do you get results? Its a BFG 7300GT

From my experieces with ATi Tool, the find max clock functions never really worked properly.

Best way is to up the clocks slowly, and test using 3DMark after each time you increment the core.

Then do the same with the memory clocks, if you crash or get artifacts start lowering the clocks.

I dont like ati tool either and dont trust the artifact scannning. Isnt there anything else for nvidia cards because ntune is pants

Ive got rivatuner and theres a guide on here if you search. Unfortunately my recent use of it in games to monitor temps showed it was causing the driver to crash which isnt encouraging

You best read there READ ME or visit the Forums.

It does not have a Stress Tool like ATI-Tool, it only has Test Button that will most times pass the OC you just attempted, does not mean its stable.

for some reason when i restart my pc the clocks go back to stock even if they are save how do i make that they would stay overclocked even when i restarted my pc ?

Is this with ATiTool or Rivatuner? If it is atitool then you must save your overclocked profile, then, in settings, use the top bar to navigate to Startup.
In that menu select the profile you want to use at startup and whether you want atitool to launch at startup of the computer.

Hope this helps, again if it is Atitool.
