I use it mostly as an application launcher and I have only two items in my dock. However the odd time I use it to open a file with a certain program or for saving word documents. It's a powerful tool but does anybody use it to the full. I've had it for a year and I'm only starting to see now how fast and easy certain things can be done if you know what your doing.

Running one line shell commands - killall Finder/Dock etc
Resizing images
Copying apps from images to applications folder
Shortcuts to application-specific menu items
Indexing my ma.gnolia bookmarks
Browsing my iTunes library (mmmmm radial menus)
Keyboard shortcuts to control iTunes
Locking my keyboard (well, activating screensaver)
That's about it off the top of my head
