im thinking of getting a 2405FPW.

As you may know the model has been out for awhile now and i was just wondering how does it compare to the newer tft screens thats out and im not just on about the new 2407WFP model.

is it still a quality screen? Will i notice a lot of difference compare if i was to get one of the newer tft screens? Any worthy features thats out now on the newer models?

Its still cost a lot of money and i wanna make sure ive made the right decision.

Im my view the 2405FPW is still a great screen, certainly not vastly behind anything in terms of technological advances in the 20+ TFT category. Being considerably cheaper than the 2407 i'd say the differences (search the forum) are minimal and if you can find the 2405 around <£550 i'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

it's still a fantastic screen. Since it's release there have been improvements in responsiveness certainly. Overdrive use has been more widely perfected, and there are now very responsive models out there in the 19", 20" and now even larger sized markets. Apart from that, there hasn't been any massive changes, this tends to be the main area which manufacturers concentrate on at the moment.

The 24" sector hasn't changed much at all. The new Dell 2407WFP is a little faster, both in spec and real terms. Apart from that they've added HDCP support over DVI, and that;s about it :)
