How does a second hand 5d compare to newer models?

I LOVE my 5D. The LCD is ****, but what I find is that photos look ok on it, and then when you get them on the computer you're amazed at how much better they look. With my 5D2 they look good on camera, and the same on screen. Less of a pleasant surprise :p

That's true. It's sometimes hard to tell if the images are out of focus or not the screen is that bad! It does the job though and discourages chimping.

The only thing I really miss sometimes is live view when I'm doing macro, but I have another body for that.

That's some weird logic Nick lol

Works for me :D

Although my 5D broke during my last wedding. The mirror came loose whilst shooting and it smashed into pieces. I'm sending it off for (hopefully) a free repair, fortunately I qualify for CPS now so it should be fairly quick.

The importance of back up right there!

Just saw your latest stuff, cracking set, I'd be proud of it myself. :)

Cheers Ray. Finally it's a wedding I'm actually happy with myself. I've always struggled with the evening shots at weddings but I finally bothered to learn about rear curtain sync and it really paid off! :D
