How does FF7 hold up today?

Selphie's "The End" if you are lucky to land on it works the same in FFVIII. Can instantly kill anything including all bosses.

Cait Sith's Slot is much easier to do though when you compare the two.
 
Love FF7 and FF9, still play them every now and then on my PS3. But gotta say I've got a bit of a blind spot where it comes to FF8, it was so dull my brain has blocked it out :)
 
I remember watching the youtube video that shows you how to beat the Ruby weapon by using counter materia and KOTN i think:D

I can't find the vid on youtube, but i remember watching it and trying to get the exact materia that he had but he had some things mastered that i just couldn't play it enough to get

Mastering materia was simple.

Go to the Northern Cave, down the bottom to bits where it looks like you are walking on straw vines and water.
Fight the oranges, equip a triple weapon and you are sorted :)
 
I played FF VII to death on the Ps1 years ago, I've just bought it on PSN for my PS3 and It's been great going through it all again. :D I've just reached Junon for the first time.

Using the Dolphin to climb the electric tower was annoying
 
damn this thread i really want to replay through FFVII on my Xperia Play again now but im still unsure as i would like to try an RPG that i havent played before but i get the feeling very few will live upto the quality of FFVII and VIII

any other alternatives? ive tried IX and never got on with it and the other option is IV or VI but im kind of hoping for the remake of IV to be released on android but its unlikely

so without stealing the thread anybody know of a game that lives upto FFVII
 
This weekend I shall be playing FFXII for the second time.

I played it when it came out and hated it, but based on peoples views of it in this thread I am going to give it one more try!
 
thread makes me want to play FFVII again :/

Without a PS1/2/3 or a working PC, what's my options?! :)
 
I started playing this on my PSP last night, got owned in the sunken ship, then gave up for the night. :(

Emerald weapon was moping around the around too. /shudder
 
Well I just forked out the full 7.99 and downloaded on my psp.

I guess when I get my new ps3 I can play on that also? Transfer save?

but maybe it looks better on small psp screen? seems big screen makes old games look real bad


anyway this is perfect psp game especially when Im waiting in car doing pizza deliveries
 
Not played 7, but think it's safe to say I've played around 1,500 hours of x lol. Awesome game, would like a remake of it onto the ps3... It's the only reason im still holding onto my ps2 lol.
