How does FF7 hold up today?

I really want that ff7 experience again! I recently acquired some of the ff7 music and remixes from the game, oh man it brings back good memory's of playing it. Why cant square make a game that compares to ff7 but with current gen tech. Doubt it will happen but can only hope.... :(

Not specific to Square but I wish there were more traditional turn based RPGs around these days :(.

Will FFVII work with any PSP then?

What size memory stick is needed too? :)

Think it will, yeah. May aswell go for the PSP3000 model if it isn't much more expensive than the other models though. As for the memory card, I'd say around 2GB will be adequate. Back before we could buy PS1 games from the PSN store to the PSP I fiddled with my PSP so I could use the pixie dust from my actual discs. Saw online that Disc 1 was around 750MB with Disc 2 being around 550mb and Disc 3 around 300mb although I'm not completely sure. Not sure how big the PSN version though but it shouldn't be larger than 1.5GB :p.

Edit: Seen it quoted as 1.35GB.

Thanks for your help lads. Going to have a read up on the different models, to be fair I've never been interested in PSP's, but I have that itch to play FF again!

Appreciate your help Moothead2 and compboyo.

This thread has sparked an interest for me to play some FF type games on my dusty PSP. I just picked up FF IV Complete Collection for 12 smackers, and will probably hunt around for a cheap memory stick so i can get FF7 and 9 off PSN.

i never had that, FFX was the first final fantasy game i played, and urgh god, first week 24/7 didnt even sleep, story was awesome and the characters just seemed like you'd known them forever, that was 6 years ago now, still play it lots :D

I had pretty much the exact same experience, replayed it in 2008 and it was still so good. I found parts of the game really well done in terms of setting up emotion. The music is just brilliant.
