How does Gmail tasks remind you when a task is due?

I've just set up a task in Gmail Tasks with a due date for the first time and I was wondering how it reminds you that the task is due?

no idea but if you use google calendar you can set it to send email or popup reminders. Does Tasks not have the same options?

Calendar also reminds by text message, which I love..

Yep, use calendar reminderr, but they are for appointments, not tasks.

Anyone know?
