Howdy!

Just wanna know how this addon works for the PC version of Oblivion? I'm on a measly level 8 at the moment on Oblivion (and loving every minute of it mind you), and just want to know how the Knights of the Nine addon works?

For example, if I were to install it today, would it basically add new missions etc to my CURRENT level 8 game, and effectively just bolt on to my copy of Oblivion? Or is it a whole seperate game if you know what I mean?

I think what I am getting at, is should you really only get this once you have completed the original? Or can I add it on to my current game and do the new knights missions along with the original missions?

Also, does anyone know if the new Shivering Isles addon work the same way?

Thanks!

It adds missions to your existing game :)

are you talking about the shop disk pack version?
it contains a compilation of bethesdas plugins.
you get;
Knights of the Nine (new quest and faction)
Mehrunes Razor (large dungeon quest
Horse Armour (armour for your hoss)
Wizards Tower (inherited house with own enchanting station etc)
Vile Lair (lair for evil do'ers with some perks)
Thieves Den (den for thieving types with some perks)
The Orrery (fix a pretty machine in Mages guild)
Spell Tomes (new spells to be found randomly)

You can download all this content from "The Elder Scrolls" Oblivion page.
guess what.... its much cheaper than buying the retail pack from shops and you downloadf only what you want.

when you load them you'll get new journal messages giving you info on the particular plugin.

Just post here again if you want more info on each particular plugin. :)

Shivering Isles works the same. Just adds new content to your exsisting game and character.

(although some folk start a new character for knights of the Nine as it fits the Holy crusader bill not a thieving murdering pyscho :D )

cheers MooSey-UK! I'm gonna buy the retailboxed version, I want the box with it... I also prefer to buy the game, rather than download them!

The main reason I ask this is I want it to bascially add to my exisiting game, as I don;t want to create a new character and start again, I just want to carry on doing my normal oblivion quests, then when I feel like it go and do the Knights of the nine quests... I can do that right? It doesn;t interrupt my current quests? Just cos I have installed the new pack, I don;t have to go and do those quests there and then do i?

Once you load them, (you also have to enable them within the DATA screen at the load menu) you'll get jourmal entries for thieves den. vile lair and wizards tower etc.
for KoTN just go to anvil, leave for 5 min then re enter, you'll hear conversation about a chapel attack which gives you a conversation subject to find the quest starter.
Im not sure about mehrunes razor, i think you'll get a journal entry suggesting you pay a visit to a location.

you can keep your existing character, nothing changes.
its best if you use Oblivion Mod Manager and set the load sequence priority.
KoTN should be the last file to load otherwise it causes glitches.

i have'nt done the KoTN quest yet, im level 30 and am about to embark on it. My character has reformed since he's started the main quest and is going on a holy pilgrimage to clear his soul and infamy :D
I advise you play it higher levels to get more enjoyment out of the questline fights etc.
if you need any help just shout.

Cheers dude, appreciated!

btw... whats the max level you can reach in oblivion? Is it 50?

lvl 248 i believe is the utter max.
however there is only one way of doing it and your stats won't increase. it involves going to jail...... a lot!

Shivering Isles will be differant to Knights of the nine, in that it's a whole new land with it's own story and quests. You will be able to carry you current character over though.
