How does my 5870 stack up?

I'm currently running a Radeon HD 5870 and I'm considering an upgrade. How does my card stack up nowadays? I assume I'll see a significant difference by upgrading to a 7950 or 7970?

I'm currently running a 22" ' 1680 x 1050 but will likely upgrade to either 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. Can't afford/justify the jump to 1440p

Thanks guys, I'm happy with the card for now but by the sounds of it I'll need the additional grunt when I up the monitor size.

I've got a 3750K @4.3GHz bought the other week so I'm alright in that area GPU and Monitor are the only things needing attention
