How does OCUK handle faulty products these days?

Hi everyone

I'm looking at buying a couple of graphics card at the moment and there a lots of brands to choose from, some well known and trusted, others...not so much.

I've found a review of brands on another forum and how well they perform with their RMAs.

Some of the reading is pretty shocking, it's stated that Powercolor's RMA is in Taiwan

Obviously RMAs in that situation would take weeks to do. With OCUK's renewed focus on customer service in recent years (their handling of the Nvidia 970 fiasco is nothing short of outstanding), I wondered if they help in that regard or just pass it on?

For example, do they test a card and send you a new one if it's found to be faulty and send the duff one back, or is the duff one sent back and you just have to wait however many weeks/months it takes for a replacement?

What about the OCUK exclusives, are they treated the same way? Again with the Nvidia fiasco, they said they would take their cards back without question but had to check with the other manufacturers (again, can't complain with that!).

I only wonder as it will affect my decision on which card to buy, I'd rather send an item to the UK/EU than to the far east!

Thanks. :)

Copy + paste jobby:

All RMAs are tested in compliance with manufacturer requirements. This testing process can take around 5 working days. Once this has been completed we will e-mail you again with an update on progress.

If your item has been returned for DSR (Distance selling Regulations) refund please note that all refunds will take up to 5 – 7 working days to be completed.

We also reserve the right to test and inspect high value items returned under DSR (Distance Selling Regulations).

For items over 28 days of purchase please be aware we send these back to the manufacturer for repair / replacement. This process can take up to a maximum of 28 working days.

It always gets me that for items over 28 days (never working days) but when an item needs repairing its always working days, which equates to 5 and a half weeks.

I believe that OcUK handle Powercolour RMA's, they certainly do for my card, which is why I bought it.

Gigabyte have a UK based RMA and the EVGA one is good. ASUS not so much.
