After 6 years loyalty to NTL (now Virgin, and utter rubbish) i've had enough. Lately they have been terrible, so i'm thinking of moving to O2.

I'd just like to check how the discount works for top up O2 users.

Is this it: Basically, i must always have topped up £10 within 3 months from the last time i topped up. As long as i do this it will work?

So in other words, a £10 top up every three months?

I don't have an O2 mobile, but if this is the way it works it's actually cheaper by £5 including the top up than the standard charge, so i may as well do it :)

So am i correct?

here it says £10 top up: http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/discount.jsp

and i'm looking to get the Premium, which is £10 after discount: http://broadband.o2.co.uk/home/packages.jsp

I guess you are on the pro package? Apart from a dedicated customer
service number and faster upload speed, what else does it have over the premium, anything noteworthy?

and £100 cashback on quidco, Virgin will have to give me one heck of a deal to stay with them this time...

don't forget the static ip. :p

totally not worth it. just get the premium and enjoy the saved moolah. :)

and it's a shame you didn't sign up earlier. up until november 31st, they were offering 3 months free as well. :D

Cheap broadband lol, 02 is nothing special I think but ive just got my new router so im going to test it out on that. Finding it hard to open ports on 02. That was one good thing about bt was really easy to open ports and keep them open!

Highest download ive got so far off 02 is 750kbs and bt was about 550kbs so it can be fast!

750kb from a 20mbit connection?

depending on how close you are to the exchange, very few people get 20meg. adsl is dependant on line length/quality - something you might not be aware of being a cable customer all these years.

also timmymeuk1 might even be on the non-LLU o2 access service. that's around 17 odd quid a month for 8meg because it's much more expensive to provide (o2 have to pay BT for the connection).
