Thinking about doing a cheap upgrade to my pc, this is what i have come up with.

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail with FREE Shogun 2 Game
£173.99

Gigabyte P67A-UD3P-B3 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION **
£134.99

G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM)
£77.99

Total: £398.36

Im upgrading from a fairly old spec machine that i bought when dual core processors had just came out

Athlon x2 4200, 4gig Ram. Radeon 5850 1024mb.

So will be a huge step up in terms of performance, i would expect 3-4 times faster when overclocked? Another question is though would i be better offer putting the upgrade off a few more months and going the buldozer route? Also does the motherboard i have picked seem ok or are their better ones for a similar price point?

Cheers.

Its going to be for gaming, allthough even now with such an aged CPU i can run most games at max setting COD black ops dead space 2 etc, wanted 8gig ram as i thought that would future proof the system more as i wont be upgrading for another 3-4 years most likely lol

8 gig is only really usful if your doing ram intensivfe programs, such as photoshop, cad, max, maya, 4 will be enough for gaming for a while now, plus u can always up grade it later

OK will drop it to 4, and get:
G.Skill RipJawsX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL) £39.98

Is 1600mhz fast enough to get me to 4ghz without having to drop the memory speed down? Also in terms of cooling whats the best cooler for max overclock?
