The requirements are for a good all round system with a budget of £600 which has to include everything including a tv/monitor. I'm going to be using a SAMSUNG B2330HD for the monitor. I will use the onboard HDMI rather than the VGA and it will be fine to double as a 1080P monitor and TV.

The key here is longevity. I have chosen parts which have a minimum of three years on the warranty. The PSU has 5 years which is excellent. If I can do any better for the budget, either change parts for better peformance/price/warranty.

I'm open to all suggestions.

Cheers.

You may want to include another 120mm fan since I'm sure that case only comes with a single intake fan at the front but other than that it looks good.

The motherboard only supports a max ram speed of 1333mhz, so save some money - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-098-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516

Then you can get a better quality case.

You're linking to 8GB of ram, he only wants 4GB. The difference between the cheapest 4GB of 1333 ram and 4GB of XMS3 is around 2 pound so there is no point in changing the ram. XMS3 usually autos to 1333Mhz on many SB systems anyway.

I've built with that case before. It's more than adequate for their needs. It's easy to build in, everything is quick release etc. It does indeed only come with one front fan. However, there wont be a great deal of heat generated. However I suppose it couldn't hurt. I've never bothered before.

I agree on the RAM. The price difference appears to be minimal. It does indeed default to 1333Mhz anyway. The only cheaper RAM is crappy OCZ stuff. The 1333Mhz Corsair RAM is £30+.

I've seen far too many RMA's with OCZ memory to bother saving two quid for lesser RAM.

Is there anything else I could swap out to replace with better warranties. Other than the hard drive, the WD Blacks have 5 years... however not quite worth the premium IMO.

No boards or anything with 5 years?

The H61 and H67 motherboards max speed is 1333mhz, and Buchanon said this,

The key here is longevity

Hence why I linked to 8GB kit.

But I very much doubt he'll need 8GB. He specced 4GB himself, I've seen his posts on this forum and he seems knowledgeable enough to know how much RAM he'll need. No GPU, lower end processor and a low wattage PSU suggests this is a media PC (Feel free to correct me OP) and will likely never run into the problem of needing more RAM.

Very kind of you to say so!

It isn't a media PC however. It's just a standard home PC that will be used for everything from internet, videos and the odd bit of basic photoshopping.

If more ram is needed in the future then I'll add it then. For now however, 4GB is more than enough. They're coming from a 1GB XP machine... so this is a big step up.

The motherboard only has two ram slots, so that would mean selling the current ram for a 8GB kit.

Never even noticed. Like I said, the chances of them needing more than 4GB is extremely slim. Internet explorer and media player isn't ever going to need more than that I don't think.

The new operating systems for MS are only going to get more efficient rather than power hungry. 8GB really is overkill in every respect.

However, I understand you thinking of future proof. When I said longevity... I was meaning more towards quality components that wont break or are notorious for breaking down.
