Basically all I wanted to know is if its good for the price? and if it'll be able to run the latest games on high at the probably resolution of 1440x900? (thinking about either 19" or 22" monitor). Because I have S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear SKy, Far Cry 2, ET:QW and wanna get Left 4 Dead and possibly GTA IV.

Here's the spec:

- Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 Quad Core Processor (2.50Ghz, 6MB Cache) (I can get a friend to overclock the CPU)

- 4GB DDR2 800Mhz

- 1TB (1x1TB) SATA300 Hard Drive

- 20 x Super multi DVDRW

- Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Premium

- nVIDIA® GeForce 9800GTX+ 512MB DDR3 Graphics Card

- 500W Power Supply Unit

- 52in1 Flash Card Reader

£679.31 inc VAT

Any advice greatly appreciated

64bit Vista? otherwise you won't get to use all of that ram.

Make of psu? Do not go for some cheap and nasty generic brand.

Motherboard make and model?

Hard drive make and model?

Case?

I would want to know everything about it before i was to splash the cash.

your right now i think about it it's not nearly as reliable looking as the other machine i saw on the OcUK store

specs:

- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 GO 2.40GHz Quad Core CPU Overclocked to a minimum of 3.00GHz and beyond.
- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Intel approved cooler
- Arctic Silver 5 Heatsink compound professionally hand installed by our technicians
- Abit IP35-Pro XE Intel P35 (Socket LGA775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
- Award winning OCZ 2GB PC2-8500 CAS5 (2x1GB) Dual Channel Kit
- 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 32MB Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive
- ATi Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) DirectX 10 Graphics Card
- LG GH22NS40 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
- Corsair TX 650W Next Generation Power Supply

Will that be able to handle latest games on a 22" monitor? Will have in antec 900 case with Vista Home Premium 64bit

I would imagine so. 4870 may be a better choice if it's one of the 1900x1200 22" screens though. Also bear in mind that Abit has pulled out of the motherboard market now so while you are covered in the first year from the shop warranty after may be difficult. I would be looking at a P45 board anyway. P35 is getting on a bit now.

If you're going prebuilt, you should probably look at something like this, which would be a great platform, and perhaps get a 4870 or GTX260 gfx put in it.

I would recommend building yourself though if you have the time, it's not hard and just requires some common sense. Then you can customise and get just what you want, and for less money.

the 9800gtx will struggle with Stalker Clear Sky. Considering that game is DX10.1, I would recommend ATI card like a 4870 512mb (or a 4870x2 if you want the eye candy) when maxed out the lighting effects in that game are the best I have seen so far

Cheers for the advice guys. I would build it myslef but I have no experience in that, and knowing me I'll muck something up. Plus in my eyes the real problem for me would be the bios, os, drivers and the likes :(.

Man looks v.difficult

Honestly, it's really not that hard. The BIOS doesn't take much tweaking (if at all) unless you're overclocking. Anyone can learn how to build, and OS/drivers are easy peasy, just look up the basic steps on the internet. Vista is especially straightforward to install, and will get most of the drivers automatically anyway.

If you have the time, it's worth it.

Cheers guys, I think I will, I do have time now my jobs gone, would give me something to do whilst searching for another one too.

Good thinking :)
