How does this rate?

I've been offered the change of having an IBM Lenovo T61 with the below spec;

Intel Core Duo processor T7300 (2GHz) 4 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
4GB PC2-5300 (2 x 2GB)
15.4" Widescreen TFT
128MB nVidia Quadro NVS 140M
DVD-RW
320GB 7200rpm HDD
6 cell battery
4 in 1 card reader

How does this rate?

The laptop will mainly be used for internet browsing, some gaming, photo editing and MP3s.

"inheriting" = free then no-brainer :-)

Its a couple of years old given the spec, but should cope with what you want it to do.

Don't expect much gaming performance all the same - but browsing/mp3s should be fine

haha yeah pretty much.

was looking for a laptop anyway but couldnt decide on going with the freebie lenovo t61 to keep, or have it and sell towards something newer

although i am tempted to wait until lenovo start releasing their i7 laptops

The spec is perfectly fine for what you intend to use it for, indeed it's fine for a lot more, even today, it's a decent spec, not a gaming monster but fine for most other things.
