doing a pretty much full rebuild of my pc, what does everybody think of these parts

Krypton z77 670i asus motherboard i5 3570k @ 4.4 with the optional 2x8gb corsair doiminator and cpu cooler

Samsung 830 128gb ssd

seagate baracuda 7200.12

plus cheap dvd drive

all comes to just over 600 quid.

Im nt fussed in saving a tenna or so but big savings are welcome. Its a general use gaming and photo editing machine. I will be looking in the future to watercool everything in a nzxt switch 810.

would you change anything?

Is this a £600 for all the parts or just:

Mobo, CPU, RAM, Cooler, HDD, SSD and CD drive?

If so, what PSU do you have and What GPU?

Whats your full spec? (I should have started with)

i have a ocuk/asus 6850 overclocked to nearly 1000/1200mhz and a corsair 600watt psu all in a bitfenix merc alpha. i have w7 pro as well.

its 600 for all that is listed the krypton thingy is one of the pre overclocked bundle packages made by overclockers

Yep, that spec looks great for you, can't really do it any cheaper without sacrificing performance.

The 830's are great and the '.12' HDD is a lot better than the standard version (sure you already knew that).

Are people prefering ivybridge to sandybrige now. I would have thought an i5 2500k would be better for overclocking. Cheaper too. Just a thought....

Ivybridge is better overall. The 2500k overclocks higher, Yes!

A 2500k @4.6Ghz is about the same as a 3570k @ 4.2Ghz. Not sure on the exactly figures, but you see what i'm getting at right.

cheers, i did kinda think it was the best i could do for the money, the only thing that isnt what i would have chosen individually is the asus z77 motherboard but i currently have a h61 asus board and it fine. Just most seem to prefer gigabyte and only go for asus sabertooth boards (too expensive for me).

i will be ordering any minute now cheers

Id get some more replys first before making the jump, i don't think a 600w PSU will be enough with the upgrades you've listed.
Better be safe than sorry i suppose ;)

i will eventually be xfireing my 6850 it pulls less than half at full wack atm with the sandy 2400 running so thought it would be fine with just xfired 6850.

The reason people recommend hire is because most will xfire newer more power hungry card and seeing at its a 6850 which isnt top of that architecture of even top core for 68xx series it doesnt use much juice (plus volts are still stock on the card)
