Over the £500 but best I could balance it out for with a PSU included. The 7770 isnt great value, I often suggest people atleast look for a 2nd hand 1GB 460 first (~£50). This mobo has built in wifi and will allow mild overclocking of an i5/i7K should you want to upgrade down the line

Cheers for all the suggestions guys, I'll try and take them all into consideration. Unfortunately I realised just after posting last night that I forgot to include a PSU, but given it was already 3am I was hitting the sack!

So LED > LCD monitors, duely noted!

Although a tight squeeze, is it likely to fit the prodigy? I know she quite fancies herself that case over the others in the m-itx range, I guess fine placement will be needed!

Can I blame the snow? :D

You can save £27 by going for the 500GB HDD I specc'd to bring it to £500 :)

Why do people keep suggesting the Bitfenix Prodigy? The whole point of Mini ITX is size, what's the point in sticking a tiny little ITX motherboard in something that's almost the same size as a ATX Mini-Tower! and yes I've had one, got caught up in the hype but soon came to my senses ;)

I've built a few Mini-ITX rigs and hands down the best case is the Silverstone SG05 450w. this can be had with a very capable 450w PSU for under £100

Any of the above builds will fit in it, just remove the Prodigy and PSU then replace with the SG05 450w :)

Your one of the very few that didn't lol

Whenever you see a thread like this it's usually full of folk specking the Prodigy! and just wanted to open people's eyes to the fact it's not a small case and although it is well built its no great looking with awkward port location on the side. The black one soon develops an honeycomb grid effect on the front created by the fan sucking in dust which is a pain to clean.

Never had the coolermaster and while I would prefer it purely based on size to the Prodigy, think I'd rather spend the extra tenner or so on a SG05 :)

yeh I've only had my CM for 4 days so far and still waiting for my new BeQuiet psu and front 120mm fan to arrive before its fully ready.

So far I like it. Its good that it has a USB 3.0 and 2X USB 2.0's on the front come in quiet usefull.

Also the Cm can fit a 13in GPu where as the Silverstone can only do 9in.

The longest card I ever owned was a GTX 580 reference which I managed to fit in a SG05 after a little inside modding of the case. New video cards like my GTX 670 which I believe is the same board as the 680 fit without modding. I also have a HTPC based on a SG05 and have a 7850 in that and it fits with bags of room to spare.

The SG05 has exactly 263mm internal length. That's 10.35" without modding, you can add another 0.5" by cutting away some of the inner metal which affects nothing and is not difficult :)

I must say the SG05 seems really amazing and I thank you guys for the suggestions, however my sister went with the "prettier" option in the prodigy in the end, even though I offered her both alternatives! Though I'll certainly be tempted to make a build into an SG05 when time permits :)

Cheers all for your additions, helped out tonnes in an area I'm not overly familiar with!
