How does this x99 build look?

Very black and white.

As you can't see the PSU in the case, the EGA G2 is the same PSU but with double the warranty.

well i guess the question is how does it look for what. Gaming ? a total waste of cash just get a titan x.
video editing it would rock would love to see how that performs in Sony Vegas compared to my i7.

Both really. I don't want to have to upgrade for at least 5 years.

not upgrading for 5 years is easy, just depends if you want ultra settings in 5 years. even with a titan x i would say its unlikely, Especially as we are nearing the 4k era (another 2 years and i bet its almost the norm) we seem to be in a bit of a no mans land at the moment with graphics cards with everyone hanging on with the 300x and the 980ti. what cpu do you have at the moment ?

i personally would be hard pushed to go x99 right now hence i went down the cheaper route of the 4790k as i cant see this CPU being a bottle neck for some time in all honesty. i guess it depends how long you can tolerate turning down the graphics i hate it, So i would rather spend less right now that i know will last 2-3 years easy then do the same again in 3 years.

i guess if your going 4k now its the right move but if your going to hold off 4k for a couple of years i would reconsider spending that cash right now. Just my 2 cents of course.

The 5 years was more for the CPU/Mobo/Ram/SSD. I game mainly competitively anyway so I don't always run things on max. Just want to be able to play the odd game at 4K and not have to upgrade for a while haha.

well tbh i dont think any of the current i7's will really be a bottle neck for a couple of years, However the one you have chosen specifically rely's on the fact game designers are going to start using multi cores better. i would say 99% of games at the moment will run much better on my 4790k due to the higher clock speed. However who knows whats around the corner and if your looking at multi GPU later then you will have the upper hand. Its certainly not a bad choice and a rather nice build but IMO at the moment that is not a gaming CPU due to only a 3ghz clock (3.5 Turbo) i personally would go for the 4820k for gaming at the moment and see how it goes. that gives you 3.7/3.9ghz across 4 physical cores (the sweet spot for games) but if your doing loads of video rendering then the 5960x will perform better. Hard choice depends whats more important. I do both but i dont worry about the rendering time as much as i do FPS in games. so i wont the route i did due to this. I can still render 1080p @ 60fps quite quick (5 mins will render in 3)

I'm addicted to white!

Also, changed. Cheers

The other reason for the EVGA was because of the availability of these braided cable sets,

YOUR BASKET
1 x CableMod E-Series G2 & P2 Cable Kit - White £69.95
1 x CableMod E-Series G2 & P2 Cable Kit - Black / White £69.95
Total : £139.90 (includes shipping : ).

I also thought it was the slightly cheaper case in your basket (i was viewing on phone) but I guess if you want it to last many years then investing in that one will pay off.

Looks good, the only thing I would say is do you have enough coolant? I was always told you lose a lot flushing the loop out and bleeding it before refilling.
