Sorry, I dont know much about water cooling. How does it cool the water once it passes over the cpu, wouldnt the water just get hot?

something like this

The picture says it all really

The cool water from the rad goes through the CPU block there and it becomes warm/hot water, into the pump back to the rad where the water is then cooled again and its repeated :D

i dotn either, my 144 is cooled better on air then my mates 146 on water, and mine is clocked higher!

I have the same cooler as you (arctic cooler 64 pro) cpu clocked at 2.8ghz. would something like in that pic be no better then?

Completely depends on what water cooling system you have. The make and quality of the blocks and pumps etc. Most people here would say custom build a water cooling setup. If you dont want to the Swiftech kits are the best on overclockers

No.

were you the type of person that would be a snitch at school and get a kicking once a week?
no I just said that because it WAS now you've changed it. I didn't report it to a admin?

you've now changed it to photobucket hence the - Last edited by geeza : 28th Jul 2006 at 15:56.

I was actually trying to make sure you didn't get into trouble BEFORE a mod saw it.

The radiator is gonna have a much larger surface area than an air heatsink would. This means that water cooling achieves better temps at the same noise level, or the same temps at quieter noise levels.

Correct, and the water is also much better at transferring the heat away from the chip than a heatsink is

Thermaltake tbh.

If you can't see why people don't bother with water because air cooling is better then you really really should have paid attention in science at school.

Dreadi... post above yours was sarcasm.

Your mate is either using:

Passive water cooling
Thermaltake water cooling
Evercool water cooling OR

A bucket of water

(also possibly an old kit/coolermaster kit)
