How does x³-x factorise?

I'm having a hard time doing

(x³-x) ÷ (2x²-x-1)

Now, I don't want to ask you do the whole calculation for me as I can do that with a bit of work. However, I just can't get my head around how I can factorise x³-x to divide and cancel things

Refresh my memory please!

Just remember that (x^3-x) = x * (x^2-1)

= x * (x-1) * (x+1)

think you should be able to go from there but let me know if not
