Hi guys,

got someone at work who wants to sign up his (young) sons for Xbox live.
Could you give some quick info on what Xbox Live does for the machine and for games played on it?

i.e. It's general public you have access to play against
Voice chat, are there any filters that can be used or can it be monitored against swearing, content, etc.

I think he is just concerned what his young sons will be exposed to more than the actual nitty gritty of what it does to the machine.

Thanks in advance for any helpers :).

I'd strongly sugegst locking down a lot of his settings in the privacy options, mainly private chat should be set to friends only...you'll hear bad language on any game you go, I get death threats most days on FIFA. Ludicrous really.

xbox live exposes you to 25% good people - who want to game and have fun
and then 75% of idiots with sand in their crack about something or other that basically make you lose all faith in humanity

my advice is to get him to mute voice comms like i do when my little brother comes round to play my consoles

Just dont let them on voice comms, and its fine ;)

Also depending on what kind of profile they setup im pretty sure there was a way to restrict who they played aganist.

Been ages since i have played around with my profile.
