Will depend entirely on the chip and the vcore needed to reach a given clockspeed. As you push the bclk higher the voltage increases tend to get pretty substantial, therefore you can run into cooling issues and possible early degradation of the chip due to too much vcore. What sort of voltage are you using for the oc in the chip in sig?

Voltage isnt too bad for 4.2ghz, unsure about the black screen. Could be oc related or possibly a gpu issue.

930 at 4.0GHz/4.2GHz is the best option above that you don't see much improvement gaming and general use.

My sons 930 is at 4.0GHz at 1.28>CPU-Z for 24/7 use with good temps.

I ran mine at 4.2ghz with 1.23v for good few years also,it did boot into windows at 4.5ghz but was no way on earth stable

just depends on what chip you get,regarding voltage needed ect as for cooling I used a thermolab baram cooler but there's much better coolers nowadays like the k2 mount doom/noctua d14 and silver arrow provided you use low profile memory

Hi, it's now my sons PC custom cooled but all depends on your CPU Voltage, some where round 1.31v in the Bios for 4.0GHz.

A H50 should be ok at that kind of voltage, l'll check the Bios as the mobo is an Asus P6T DLx and give you the settings tomorrow.

4.2ghz on 1.31v for the 920 i had, board was a p6t deluxe v2. Got a 930 here that will do 4.3 on 1.300v, but its ran at stock theese days as its rarely used.
