how far can i oc my amd x2 4400+

hey
i have an amd athlon x2 4400+ 939 with this cooler http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-015-ZA&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=821

how far do you recon i could safley oc this?

and do i need a program to overclock a cpu or do i do it in bios?

never done any overclocking before :confused:

It's done in the BIOS. As for how far, that depends on the chip you have. Push it gently until it's not stable, then come back down a bit.

how do i know when it's not stable?

your computer will crash and most probably re-boot with the original MHz bios setup config.....

If you can be arsed, run prime95 over night and see how it does. I have my 4800+X2 @ 2.7ghz and it runs smooth, it will push up2 2.9, but it gets too hot on standard HS and Fan.

If your not that clued up on how to overclock, do a search, as there is a topic in here with a very good link regarding the complete overclocking of amd 4400 and 4800 CPU's...
