Afternoon guys,

I have decided to OC my asus 5850. I dont really wanna up the voltage so wanna push it as far as i can on stock 1.087. I went up to 830/1102 and played GTA 4 for an hour or so no problems at all. Thought i would stress test it to see how it was coping. I used OCCT and straight away i could see artifacts and it was showing 200+ errors. I then ran kombuster and i could not really notice any artifacts at all.

What is the most reliable stress tester? and if im not getting errors in game but are in stress testing should i worry? Whats the best clock you've got your 5850 stable to?

Best clock I've had 1100 on the core with 1.28 volts but most usable day to day is 1000 core with 1.187v. Your memory clock should be independent of core voltage so you should be able to push that higher. However, test every few steps to see if you're gaining performance, if you clock the memory too high on the 5000 series it will still be stable but you'll take a performance hit when error correction kicks in.
