How far does everyone commute to work?

Roughly 8 Miles to work, takes around 25min - 30min(depending on wind!) on a fixed geared bicycle could probably do quicker with a geared bike but fixed geared bikes are so efficient and FUN :D.

4.7 miles each way, there is a shorter / quicker route but i came off my bike going that way once and refuse to do it again so i take the slightly longer route :p

About 10 or so miles. Thankfully don't have to go through town during rush hour although there's always a nice queue to the roundabout on the way home.

I miss the days at Uni when the lecture theatre was less than a 100 metres from my bed. :p

Hi, I recently came to the decision to move 30 miles away from work. This is a fair jump from the 17 miles I'm used to.
Does 30 miles there and 30 miles back sound like a massive commute? It'll be driving.

manchester to leeds, commute via train every day. Leave the house at 6:30 every morning to get into work at 8:30 :( Hopefully will get a job in Qatar :D Fingers crossed, toes crossed. :)

25min walk or 5-10min in the car if the wife drops me off.
Used to commute but that involved 33min walk + 20min train + 27min walk which was a bit of a PITA considering it meant a 3hr round trip with the office only 12 miles away, especially during bad weather.
edit: oh I also go to another office we have a couple of days a month which involves a 3hr30 train journey plus 23mins walk at either end. Double the time it would take in a car!

I'd say a 30 mile drive is fine if you can do it in an hour.

Now the snow's gone, I'll cycle the couple of miles.

Until it gets mad with tourists from Toronto. Canadians really are terrible drivers.
