How far does everyone commute to work?

9 mile drive through the sticks. Makes a nice change from having to commute on the tube into the city every morning.

My commute is walking/train/walking and it's probably about 5 or so miles door to door and takes maybe 40 minutes each way with the train part taking about 15 minutes.

6.5 miles each way, relatively little traffic. 1 traffic jam in nearly 4 years when a bypass was closed for roadworks. Happy with that and would find it hard now to go back to a longer commute.

Just over 40mins each way door to door by a combination of train and tram.

Before I was relocated to Nottingham I used to commute an hour each way to Reading from Hampshire which involved two trains each way ...

I find my commute now a lot less stressful ...

50mins and 30 miles each way, just started this job on Monday. I'm not too bothered by it at the moment (having 'fun' trying to get 40mpg out of my 2.8 Z3, 38.9mpg so far!).

I would ideally be as close as I could, but where we are now is right in the middle of mine and the fiancees workplaces so its a compromise.

1 mile drive, reason i drive is i love to be home at lunch for an hour, its great to get outta the office for an hour, especially as its so hot in there also. get to cook something nice for lunch and not just have crappy microwave or sandwich matter at work!

Used to take the bus which took 50 mins door-to-door. Now I ride and it only takes 30
