How far does everyone commute to work?

44 miles each way into Nottingham. 1hr 10 mins avg.

Only really bad gettin out of notts and over A46 then its plain sailing :)

I work with people who live far closer and get the tram / bus combo and they get home in around the same time as me.

You end up on autopilot anyway very quickly.
 
To college from S London to W London:

10-11 miles as the crow flies, 14 miles by road

Public transport: tube and rail, 1 hour door to door if I don't miss the train
Car: 1h 10mins with traffic/roadworks, 45mins fastest journey with little traffic

I normally take public transport as petrol is expensive, and cause it is nearing the summer, you get to 'admire the scenery' :o
 
depends on your Salary and personal circumstances but for a professional job, 30 miles in, and out, is fairly reasonable.
 
40 miles each way. It usually takes an hour as the roads are clear and it's a rural location so I'm going the opposite way of everything else. Went for an interview a while back half the miles but took longer due to city traffic.

So long as the car is moving I'm happy, nothing worse than sitting in traffic.
 
I started a new job in mid-feb, went from ~23 miles each way to 37 miles each way, but I've got a key so I leave the house ~6 ish, get there about 40 minutes later with no traffic at all, then work through to 4 and get back about 4:50-5 ish

No motorways, just nice flowing A-roads, I quite enjoy it most days :)
 
About 2.5 miles or 1 flight of stairs if I am working from home

15 minutes on the bike or 40 minute walk, ironically the bus comes in last as it can take nearly an hour. Car is about 6 minutes as traffic lights are numerous and long winded
 
My daily trudge:

Walk - House to Leeds Train Station = 1.6miles
Train - Leeds to Manchester Piccadilly = ~47miles
Walk - Station to workplace = 0.4miles

So around 100miles/day.
Takes around 1hr 40mins from closing front door to sitting in office chair.
 
When i was working offshore Denmark it would have been a Super Puma every 3 weeks then a 1 minute walk to the office :O
 
My comute currently is around 10 miles each way. No traffic, nice empy roads and takes around 15-20 mins.

I move house on Monday and its going to take me 40 mins and around 19 miles each way skirting around the east of London. :(.
 
I work outside of town and commute 18 miles each way. Takes 25 mins and the traffic flow is always moving the other way. Suits me fine as I have audiobooks on the ipod to listen to.
