How fast will DDR2 get?

Im just a bit bored at the moment and I had a quick look but could only find articles about current speeds for DDR2.

So, what speeds will we see from DDR2 ram?

Probably 600-700Mhz before going to DDR3

Quad core is here but its not going anywhere until around Q3 2007.

Yes but quad core is intended for the professional/server market

The C2D line is for the desktop market so I think we will still have dual core for many years to come.

Quad core will be server/pro for while until many multi-thread games are out, so the masses want more cores cheaper.

C2D will be around for a while and C3D is on a different socket completely, 2008 IIRC

Late 07/ early 08 if todays Inq is to be believed. Tho Intel did release the C2D's earlier than expected.

quad core clovertown is for the server market altho we're using it on some computational pcs for CERN
the kentsfield is aimed at the desktop market and also a cheaper alternative for clusters, instead of using the clovertown which is the XEON Quad Core ie u need to use two of them paired whereas the kentsfield can be ran on its own
