How fast will this rig go?

Ok first off, I haven't upgraded my PC for a few years and now I've decided to build a new rig myself because my current one is now beyond a joke.

My question is what sort of speed increases would I expect to see between the two rigs below (my old and new), and will my new rig when built be the dog's b*ll*cks?

Old Rig

CPU: Athlon XP 3000
Motherboard: ASrock k7s8x
Case: unnamed make
Memory: PNY 2x 1Gig
PS: 400 watt unknown brand
GFX Card: PNY Geoforce 6600
Hard Drive: Maxtor 120gig
Soundcard: Soundblaster Live 24

New Rig

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield
Motherboard: EVGA nForce 680 or BFG nForce 680
Case: NZXT Zero case
Memory: Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C4 TwinX
PS: Corsair 630 watt
GFX Card: BFG GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB
HD: 2 x WD Raptor X 150gb
Soundcard: Soundblaster X-Fi Elite Pro

Also the mainboards, which one would be the best? the BFG or EVGA? Are they exactly the same board and can you use the BIOS updates on the EVGA site for the BFG MB etc? The BFG one is down to £176.24 now on here which is tempting, but I would pay extra for the EVGA MB if it had something extra.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies, I take it I'll be blown away on first boot up then?

Any ideas on the motherboard question?

Thanks again.

Judging from user feedback on here and other forums, I'd go with the EVGA 680.
