yh but only hentia is porn, didn't know anime/cartoons (ecchi, lolicon or shotacon) were illegal tho at most it's just fan service featured in games or the anime mentioned above.
The game features child-like characters and rewards the player by allowing them to remove their clothes. Quite plainly falls in the category of child-like characters depicted for sexual gratification. Soft porn, but porn nonetheless.
Hentai is fine, you can watch as many anime fap flicks as you like, just not ones featuring children. That is illegal.
For games like DOA: Beach Volleyball, just don't buy it if you don't like it. As someone who just doesn't see the point of such games (just watch porn instead why not?), even I think it's nonsense to censor/or prevent the game from releasing in the West. I've ignored games like that all my life, I don't see why other people can't, who are we to say what folks can and can't enjoy. It's not like people who don't like such games are forced to play them. I absolutely loathe fan-service/ecchi (the genre term for pervy anime), but I'd be a jerk if I tell others they can't enjoy it.
For things like Bravely Default and Xenoblade, I'd just recommend making those things an option. I've played games where there have been options to turn off blood and gore in the menu, I once even read a free visual novel with an option to turn off 'adult content,' I don't see why they don't make use of these options more in games. It's the best way to make everyone happy. Folks who don't mind such things can leave them be and the rest of us can just turn it off and enjoy the game our way too.
On the topic of other material, such as young characters being over-sexualised, that's where things get hairy (no puns intended). I watch a lot of anime, mainly as a critic (I used to force myself through terrible ones with the help of alcohol, not always a good idea) and I've found that Japan really likes to **** about when it comes to the ages of characters. I've seen anime where a middle aged mother of many children looks like a (jailbait) teenager/young adult, I've seen other anime where an adult woman looked exactly like a small child. That latter example, the character even got drunk (underage drinking is another thing in anime, they usually bypass it by having the characters get drunk off non-alcoholic drinks which is dumb), so it looks all sorts of wrong. Then there's characters which are teenagers/young children which look like adults. I've even gotten confused as to the age of characters and gotten into arguments over how old a character is, 'she looks like a young adult, therefore she must be at least this age.'
Japanese artists/game devs/animators are to blame for this age ambiguity, often abusing it to depict things which would otherwise be wrong. That said there are two additional factors, firstly the fact that the age of consent in Japan is 13 compared to 16 here in the UK (which is already a bit too low IMO) and also the fact that these media forms are made primarily for a Japanese audience, i.e. they don't seem to care what the rest of the world thinks. I don't know what child pornography laws are like in Japan, do they even exist over there? But for sure they are present here in the west and Japan doesn't seem to give a damn.
This difference in culture needs to be resolved somehow. I feel like some folks will be upset at me saying this, but Japan needs to get their **** straight as far as the ages of fictional characters and the sexualisation of such characters is concerned. We won't complain if they only sexualised adult characters, but this nonsense with kids have got to stop. Even the 'liberal' folks can't argue against the law on this one.

Yet Japan are forced to accept Western culture.
Personally I find big boobs etc. pointless in game, look at Dragons Crown, it actually put me off the game BUT people should be allowed to be exposed to other cultures, art etc. Feminists are one of the scourges of the West at the moment, they would ban anything if they could just to show they have POWER.

By the West, surely the reference is to indivuduals for the most part having moved on from that particular content. They didn't say Japanese culture as a whole. And Japanese people in the same way are not forced to accept Western culture. Few cultures area as distinct and resistant to change as Japanese culture is.

Video gaming is part of their culture obviously and they want to be able to let the world in on what interests them which can only be a good thing, overcoming isolation. One word for the west, McDonalds.

Japan isn't 'forced' to adopt Western culture, and the West isn't forced to adopt Japanese culture. They are different, which is why we have different laws regarding what sexual imagery is acceptable.

This fighting game I was referring to, in a "big boob" manner, because I can't see how it's exploitation, prostitution is exploitation yet it's the oldest career in the history for women. Blokes have been beating each other senseless for decades, big muscles and not, doesn't really matter does it?

I think what this thread illustrates is that the people who get really (really, really) vexed about "SJWs" and "feminazis" stealing their dirty gaming jollies respond in such a way because they singularly fail to comprehend the world beyond base black and white reasoning.
