I thought I would dig out good old Final Fantasy 7 to wish a way the hours and I started playing it, got to the first Mako Reactor save point and the PS2 memory card doesnt get recognised by the game :(

I cant save !!!!!!!!!

You need a PS1 memory card to save PS1 games. A PS2 card won't work.

Be hardcore and complete it without saving :p

lol i remember how long it took last time, not sure leaving the PS2 on for that long would do anyone any favours.

Jeez I do remember some lost weeks though and many many sleeps missed !!!

I was going to say just create an internal PS1 card but you're not on the PS3 are you? My brain is frazzled with PS3 talk at the minute! :D

yeah lol i am goign way back - 1997 (c) Squaresoft - shocking really 10 years ago - shows it's age but it's still the best game to ever capture me in for weeks/months.

amazing game.. my all time fav infact. ill probs be buying a original ps1 soon just to play it as i sold the ps2 :p

although games wont recognise a ps2 memory card, u can use the ps2 mc to hold ps1 save games, if u go into the memory browser in the ps2 u can copy data from ps1 cards to ps2, not really useful unless your ps1 card is gettin full

hehe I played all weekend (with some sleeps inbetween) and only just near the end of CD1 - well I just killed Materia Keeper.

This is all without a single save as I can't yet. I just glad I haven't died or all this work would have been in vain.

I'm still trying to buy or get hold of a PS1 memory card. My only fear is after getting one is that the PS2 wont register the PS1 memory card unless the unit is switched off, in which case all my work has been in vain. doh !!!

I hope my PS2 doesnt melt, it has been turned on since 11am on Saturday

I'm pretty sure it checks the memory cards every time you try to save, so putting one in while it's still on should be fine.

I remeber once I found FF7 so me and my brother started playing it for 3-4 hour's then decided to save it, Turn's out we only had ps2 memory card :( So we left it on all night and most of the next day while i went out to buy a ps1 card lol.Wouldn't dare do that with my x360 incase I come back and find my house on fire :D

I'd be worried about leaving a Xbox 360 to make a cup of tea, although I am sure you could boil the water using it too :)
