How future proof is this board?

I'm looking at getting the Asus P8Z68-V GEN3 Intel Z68
(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-493-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990)

with the intention of it lasting a significant number of years for a later Ivy Bridge upgrade and any later GFX cards with it being PCI-E 3.0 ready...

Is there anything i should know about this board? is it as solid as it appears, or is it possible that later Ivy Bridge mobo's will support better Usb 3.0 or PCI-E 3.0 integration than this one?

also, is there a significant difference between that one and the pro version?:

These are the main two boards I'm focused on, if anyone has other recommendations however i'd be happy to hear them!

I think the Z77 motherboards support slightly better usb 3 with the intel chipset, but other than that there isn't a huge amount to gain from them. not to sure on the PCI-e 3 though, think that will be the same across them all, its just if you plan of CF or SLI seeing which one will give you the best multi-card speeds.

alright cool... do you know of any rumours about whether the 2nd generation of Ivy Bridge will still be the same socket? or is it likely they'll change making this motherboard obsolete? and also, is PCI-E 3.0 affected by the processor? or is it primarily whether the mobo has the capability?

IB will be the last chip for 1155. next year a new socket is due :)

I believe you need an IB chip for PCI-E 3.0. but im sure stulid or someone will confirm/correct that.

answering the future proof question. I cant see anything (game wise) needing more than a 2500k for a while, so you should be fine to skip the next generation and go for the one after at least, if not a bit longer.
