How good is a 2002 Xbox?

Hi all,

I've been offered an old xbox manufactured in March 2002 for a reasonable sum but I'm wondering if its better to try and get an newer model. Are there any known problems with getting a 5 year old unit?

Later revisions were less noisy and had better cooling inside that the first lot, not sure when exactly the change took place though.

Still, if it looks like it works ok then there shouldn't be a problem. Just give the DVD drive a good test with several different discs.
