i have an iDEQ 200N with psu and mobo, 1 gig ram, and AMD XP 2100+ left over from my upgrade and was considering a MCE PC for my uni house next year. this would be used as a freeview player, PVR, and a DVD player, with the added benifit of internet content and windows in the lounge!
how good is a MCE as a dedicated tv companion? are the boot up/shut down times annoying, does it offer the same functionality as all the devices it replaces without being slow or cruddy? i dont want to spend money on setting it up only to have it annoy me to have to wait 2 mins to turn on my TV, etc.
does anyone have it as a dedicated tv and dvd player? how well does it work?
