I've aquired a laptop with one of these in it quite cheaply and I've since reinstalled xp, etc, loaded a few apps for the missus (she's the one whose gonna use it most and my daughter is deffo not happy about that).
Anyways, The way this thing reacts and the speed at which it seems operates gives the impression that its running faster than 1.6ghz, so is this prozzie as good as say, 2.4ghz-3.0ghz P4 'cos it really seems like it?

yeah that comparison is about right , I have a 1.7 pentium m735 laptop and it is pretty quick indeed , my daughter even plays some games on the 42" plasma downstairs on it , it does pretty good.

My notebook is a 1.73GHz Pentium-M also. Pretty quick, although it's only 512MB of RAM so it can feel sluggish. Don't see the point in paying money to upgrade it though; it's not my main machine.
