Hi all, i am thinking of getting Fifa 12 on pc instead of ps3.
I would like to know how you rate the online matches and what are the main differences of the game are?

Many thanks,

Craig

It's the game, as in online :)

Check out the OcUk 1v1 league and get your name down for next season :)

I have PS3 version of fifa 11 and pc verison of 11, played 2 games on PS3 and never went back.
That said 12 (only have it on PC) is a lot different fom 11, ie. defending, shooting and lightening fast keepers.

What are the buttons on pc? I've always been interested in this aswell but didn't really want to try it incase :p

Yeah it is exactly the same as the console version by all accounts. The interface and options etc are all very well implemented, i have had a few problems with match making regarding mismatching opponents but otherwise it is great.

Tactical defending takes some getting used to as well. Most randoms online use Legacy defending though.

What I would suggest if you want to buy the PC Fifa 12 ask EA for a discount voucher, sounds crazy I know but I did and got 15% off the day after I d/loaded it DOH !

This is probably just my connection but I lag hard half the time and have had quite a few times where I've been disconnected from the servers even though I had network connection. :(

The buttons are whatever you want them to be.

Didn't want to try it in case what? Are you scared that installing the Fifa 12 demo will bring about the coming of the apocalypse?

Depends who you play against mate, EA is not the worlds best at selecting live online matches due to connection quality. What I would try is play against someone you know is UK based or try the online lobbies and select view by connection, look for ALL green bars and see what happens.

In case it wasn't very good, didn't realise there was a demo though seeing as the only time I buy games are from steam.

So connection depends on host player too? I keep getting an EAS error or some sort for the last 1 hour, my internet seriously fails :(

Yes it depends on host and other player, might be worth your while checking if you need to open some ports for Fifa. I myself didn't have to but I know people that did mate. Google ... ports fifa 12 .Oh and check your firewall status ingame.

Firewall status says "moderate", opened up those ports and will see how it goes, really frustrating just got cut off two matches cos i lost connection, i bet it is my isp and the congested wifi signal cos i get the same thing when playing counterstrike.

Mines on Moderate as well mate albeit not using wifi but rather wired connection, if as you say you get the same problem with another online game then I'd be looking at trying wired mate.

Wired network might be worth a go i guess especially since wifi reception is so flaky, on the plus side just played a team game, no lag throughout the match for the first time, maybe the port rules fixed it fingers crossed! might try it for CSS now!

Hope so mate, dont forget to check ports for CSS :)
