how good is my 720 with 4 cores

i run my phenom 720 with unlocked forth core most the time ,running at 3.5ghz stable.seems cool but as i only game i cant see no difference between 3 and 4 cores ,also is there any difference between my 4 core and say a 955 propper 4 core?

4 cores do benefit games that support quad cores

Indeed no difference between an unlocked 720 and a 'true' quad core. Depends which games you're running, for most games a tri-core at 3.5GHz is enough.

I unlocked my 3 core after having it a year and am astonished at how much faster Battlefield Bad Company plays!

Ive had a few stability issues though so am thinking of getting an X6. Need to see what happens when Bulldozer appears though.

Hmm. Yes, stability issues. Especially waking from sleep. Reverted to tro core setting. I think the naysayers are right. Core disabled for a reason! Oh well. Buy a 6 core some day.

Try turning off cool'n'quiet and C1E in the BIOS if your having stability issues.
