how good is the 8800gtx

I still have one in my wifes computer and turning settings down, it plays most games happily. It is old and I wouldn't expect miracles from it though :)

if you're looking for a card to tie you over for a short while , i.e. when you're selling your current card for a newer one or waiting for your card to be RMA'ed then its a suitable card, as long as you dont pay over the odds for it, but for a card you plan to use long term, as above, save up for a much better card.

Not great by todays standards. How much it can cope with will depend on what resolution you are playing at and whether you can live with turning some details down

Was the GTX faster than the GT? (GTS < GT < GTX iirc) I think it was, either way my GT would run BF3 at 1080p on lowest, decent card and can be picked up cheap.

Depends what you will be playing and how good you want the settings.

as the title. i know this card is getting on a bit now but is it any good??

Would be easier to tell us what you want to do with the card, What games do you want to play etc
If you want to play older games & use a low res it'll be fine.

Brilliant card.......5-6 years ago. I had two and played them to death (not literally).

What do you want to play or use it for?
