How good is the Amazon Fire Stick Wifi module...?

I've been using the FireStick for close to a month now and while it's been less than perfect, I'm pretty sure the wifi modules within these devices are dog poo!

My work laptop (Dell E6440) can connect to the wifi anywhere in my 1 bed annex but the Fire Stick struggles with the connection being less than 10ft away from the router.

Are other FireStick users experiencing similar issues? Once I've managed to get my internet back up and running (currently using landlords wifi) I'm going to give it another go but I'm being driven slowly insane by the constant buffering with Netflix, Radio & BBC iPlayer!:(

I just read that using the supplied hdmi extender improves wi-fi connectivity if your not already using it.

I'll give it a go thanks but it's not looking good. I was able to watch Dr Who on catchup using my laptop and it buffered once where the FS was constant.

I've been using the HDMI extender in the back of my TV and the router is on the other side of the wall. While my laptop will happily stay connected to the router at any point in my house, the Fire Stick can't keep connected to save its life.

- Constant Buffering
- Constant Connection loss
- BBC iPlayer unstable
- Even using a radio app, it has issues with keeping the wifi connection

I get my own internet setup on Tuesday so will give it the benefit of the doubt. If this doesn't improve, I will be returning the device for another one. Failing that, it will be refunded and I will get an ATV.

Very very disappointed as it's been well reviewed!!!
