How hard is DCS blackshark

I've been interested in flight sims for a while (long time sim racing fan so I kinda get and enjoy that style of 'game' :p) and seeing as this is a fiver in the sales (or £17 for both this and the Warthog one as well, which seems a bargain) I'm tempted again, but got one or two questions...

I wouldn't buy Black Shark in the Steam sale, it's V1 and incompatible with the new DCS world. You need BS V2 for this. Of course if you're happy with it standalone then please ignore me ;)

Ah right, didn't realise it was incompatible, are there two versions of the A10 one as well?

Gamefly does indeed seem to have version 2 for £15 so probably worth going for...

Am still annoyed that for whatever reason and whoever is to blame, they still cannot get V2 on Steam, such a silly situation.

/rant over.

Blame Valve - ED have been trying for ages to engage steam to get all the DCS stuff on steam. Valve can't seems to cope with the amount of devs trying to publish on steam hence Steam Greenlight

ED hopes very much that Greenlight will get the Ball rolling for DCS:-World and ED and 3rd party DCS Modules to appear on steam.

That is a fair answer. It is no secret that getting a game on Steam can be a mission. ALTHOUGH, once your first game is published, I was under the impression getting additional content on the platform was not so much of an issue.

A lot of people are expecting a lot from Greenlight, myself included. I hope it delivers.

Cheers for all the advice, so seems like I can just get the DCS: World bit with the free aircraft, along with a HOTAS stick of some form (would a proper cheapo one be ok to start with, or is it really worth the extra even straight away) and just see if I get into it...

Oh and by the way the Central program that all the Aircraft Modules plug into is free, and has a free Aircraft included.

Nice I didn't realise that, no-brainer download for me as I just splashed out on a used X52 pro (for BF3 believe it or not, cheaper sticks just don't have the precision I want :() and wouldn't mind giving sims a go. Thanks!

I noticed that there are BS2 and A-10C modules available for download as modules there too, but there are also links for purchasing them; I assume there's some sort of activation process after downloading and they're not simply free :)

yep
they have moved to dcs world being the center, and everything else is dlc, basicaly

fyi if you hunt around theres training vids for the su25t on the website, 1.5gig torrent
same for the blackshark
