How hard is rendering a concrete block wall?

Looking to get my 4ft retaining garden walls rendering - white. .. I did all footings

How hard is it? ... Would you pigment the mix white or just paint it?

Easy to do but difficult to do well! I'd want coloured render as if you paint it you make a job for yourself every 5 years!
