How heavy is your laptop?

Currently I have a Vaio Z which is as light as a feather. With a GT 330M It can handle most stuff but can't provide consistent framerates in new games.

So...thinking about upgrading (downgrading?) to a 15inch laptop with more power under the hood. I reckon as long as it's under 3kg it should be fine to lug around, but I haven't carried around a heavy laptop for ages, so I've probably forgotten how annoying it is.

How heavy is your laptop and is it fine to carry around with you while travelling?

My Dell Studio 17 is 3.6kg. It's reasonably heavy but I can carry it around without a problem. I take it everywhere I go.

Mines is around 4.2kg, so a bit of a beast. Doesn't bother me lugging it round, after all it might be heavy for a laptop but in reality it isn't. Although I do have another gaming laptop as well that only weighs in at 2kg, so can always take that about if I don't need as much power.

Problem with the bigger one though is it's almost hopeless on battery power (will last just over an hour of gaming), so pretty much needs to be near a power source :p

Found this: Kobalt GS510, with a GT555M (same card as the alienware MX14x) and reported weight is 2.6kg.

May well give this a go. It's built on a Clevo body.
