There is no set mhz how much you can get outta a cpu by overclocking. Some may overclock like crazy while others may fail at the same time. From what ive been told most of the 4000+ from ocuk have been hitting 3ghz on air with increase to the cpu voltage. But dont make that because they were able to that you will able to.

First off your better off getting better memory if you intend to oc.. pc3200 is fine for when your running at stock speeds but your more than likley to kill it if you oc them way past their recommended frequency. Get something like pc4200 or pc3500, believe me it will help

how high is a china man :D
but kingston ram wont over clock that much
you will need to run a divder

i got the same as you....athlon 4000+ (kab1e) and a asrock dual sata board

but ive got cheap ram so im gonna have to run it on a divider
il be happy though if i hit 2.8ghz.....what stepping have u got!
i take it you bought the oem 4000+ chip from ocuk!

duh! just reread your post again if you get the (kab1e) stepping you
should be able to get 2.8ghz! maybe 3ghz

Overclocking is not simply CPU dependent...

I have a San Diego 3700, and I've had this at 2.9Ghz on Air, but not stable.

I can run at 2.8GHz solid all day, however, to acheive that, I have: -

DFI Ultra-D NF4
GSKill PC4800 (which runs 1:1)

Recently upgraded to the the exact setup 4000/asrock dual sata2,currently overclocked to 3ghz.
Cpu ( stepping KAB1E )was purchased from Ocuk and looking through the forums these seem to be good clockers, although like already mentioned nothing is guaranteed.
