How high is your desk?

[unnecessary back story]I fashioned myself a nice desk from the end of a new work surface my dad was installing at his work, and I'm quite chuffed with it. It's solid, expensive wood about 1.3m across, varnished down, with a cable hole at the back. I picked up a leg months back, which the guy at Wickes described as screwing up or down between 700 - 1000m. Problem is, It's actually 870mm at its lowest - and it's far too late to bitch to Wickes about it. Now my desk surface is just shy of 900mm from the floor, and my wrists hurt, so I've gotta reset the batons on the wall and hack the leg down to size.[/unnecessary back story]

How high is the top of your desk from the floor? Would 700mm be too low for you?

730mm and I expect all desks would be within about 10mm of that. Basic egernomics cut or get some new legs to make it 730mm.

I've not got a massive chair - desk is just above nipple-height in my customary slouch.

I think I'll have to lop off a good 160mm, the surface itself is about 25 so that'd bring it up to... 735? The only problem is that even though the leg doesn't drop any lower by itself it's still adjustable, which would indicate a sizable screw bolt running through the middle - and I've no way of knowing where it starts or ends. That and I'll have to get a cap for it, the one currently on the bottom is unlikely to come off in one piece. I suppose I should be grateful that it's only one leg. Thanks.

780mm approximately (two lengths of A4 and 1 width...)

However I am tall and we made the desk in a very similar way to the OP, nice piece of cherry worktop and some shelves made to support each end.

757mm here.

Got a seat in Ikea that means the desk is at a fantastic height, and if i really want to i can move the seat down and pretend I'm a midget at a giant's desk, which is an awesome feeling, I can't encourage you to try it enough.

740mm

Just right at that height, Ive got my seat in its highest position though so i guess it could be lower if it had to be.

Mine is 730mm, expected it to be more for some reason. It isn't a pre-made desk though, I just have a worktop/surface resting on some supports.
