How high will I able to OC this?

For my extreme budget gaming build, I opted for a Gigabyte GA 880GM-USB3 Micro ATX motherboard (yes, and when I said extreme, I meant it). I've read up about its OCing "abilities", and it turns out that it has a power phase system which isn't "suited" for high Ocing.

I'm not looking for a tremendous clock, but I would like to have the 960T I bought to get around 3.6-3.7 GHz on it. It's cooled by a Hyper 212+ Evo.

Will I be able to go this high with such a motherboard? I don't want it to just fry up (this is my first ever build). I'm also hoping that my 960T will be able to unlock (if not then I don't mind.) and I've read about this Mobo's ACC to unlock it.

TL;DR version:

I have a 960T and will it OC to 3.6-3.7 GHz with a Gigabyte GA 880GM-USB3 mobo, possibly unlocked, without damage? (CPU cooler Hyper 212+ EVO).

Anyone? I'm beginning to think OcUK love to ignore the noobs. ;P

I doubt you're being deliberately ignored.

Starting a thread at gone 11 in the evening is unlikely to get you a fast response.

I'd love to answer your question but I'm not familiar with the processor or the motherboard. I'm sure someone who is will be along in due course.

Fair enough.

I would just overclock it bit by bit, then when it starts becoming unstable set it back a little. No CPU or motherboard are the same. Can get two CPUs identical and one could overclock great and the other no good! Il have a look now for the correct frequencies for you

At first i was running it daily at up to 3.8ghz x stock 200mhz FSB and stock voltage.
Started toying around with everything ratcher than just the multiplier, and im happy with where im at now...
Phenom II 960T on ASRock 880G
4.01Ghz (16.5x243)
vCore @ 1.3875
30C idle, 44C Full Load w/ Zalman 9700
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 @ 810Mhz, stock voltage
NB @ 2430MHz, stock voltage
HT link @ 1950MHz (8x)

WEI for CPU & RAM went up to 7.5 after OC

Ive ran the stress test in AMD overdrive for 30 min a few times and its been running for a few days and hasnt had a hiccup yet.
So far im VERY impressed with this chip and im so happy i went with the 960T

Any input is more than welcome!

Hes got same chipset and CPU as you so your results should be close. Just make sure your power supply can handle extra power and you have got ventilation. Cheaper boards have non solid capacitors so you might decrease the life of your board.
