How high overclock my E7500 to minimize bottleneck on GeForce GTX 260???

Hello!

I was wondering how high would i need to overclock my E7500 to minimize the cpu bottleneck on a GeForce GTX 260 card???

Thank you for responding.

Well, my E7500 has a default vcore of 1.26250v and so far its now running four hours Small FFT Prime95 stable at 3.8GHz with cpu vcore increased to 1.36875v and load temperature of 68-69C on both cores.

I haven`t really tried tweaking my Corsair DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 Ram as yet for speed but was wondering if this is a pretty good overclock given the vcore ive set and the load temperature i have stress testing my E7500 for that length of time???

Thank you for responding.

Its entirely dependant on what you're playing. Some games use more CPU power than others, GTA4 for instance is very CPU intensive. Other games will be limited by GPU power so your CPU clock will have little impact.

a 3.2 ghz overclock should provide most cards with what they need in games

it depends on the rest of your rig

imo - 3.8 is more than enough for most games

why not look at a 2X2gb kit of high speed memory?

this stuff is great!

As for clock speed, like Minstadave says, it depends a lot on the game. With all my testing for my cpu comparison thread done i found that after 3.6Ghz the extra gains get smaller and smaller. There was not a lot of difference at all between 4ghz and 4.5ghz. 3.6Ghz seems to be the sweet spot.

Is my load temperature above ok for a 3.8GHz overclock??? or is it too high??? When using IntelBurnTest my temperature reaches 82C on both cores but i suppose that's to be expected using this tool as it stresses the cpu even more than other tools???

A lot of sites on the internet recommend disabling load-line calibration bios option because it can cause problems.

I've disabled this option and now ive had to increase my vcore to 1.4v in the bios to stabilize my 3.8GHz overclock, but i have noticed my temps at load are now about 5C lower than they were with it enabled.
