hi ,

I recently got a pioneer VXS-c300 amp, and it is running uber hot, There is a fan on it at the back, Im not sure what sort of temperature range is normal for it. Its basically too hot to touch the top of it, i'd say bout 60ish C on the top of it. Im not eveing running anywhere near full volume either.

May be it need more clearence on the top or something. i've only got a few cms of room for the moment at the top. Any ideas on how to cool it better? active cooling?

Definitely give it more room, its always a good idea to with amps anyway but this one sounds oddly hot, didn't know you could get them with fans though.

Some amps are known to get rather hot like this, you could fry eggs on my Marantz after a long session - generally should be okay as long as you give it plenty of breathing space.
