How important is GPU when editing and rendering videos in GoPro Studio?

nothing, my friend has been given a free PC to use for editing his gopro videos. The CPU is "meh" but not too bad. It's a dual core but I've told him to get a better quad core. But it doesnt have a GPU at all. Wondering if it mattered?
