ive recently installed an E2160 for my brother and overclocked it to 3.4ghz and it is running stable and cool. it will run all applications including CS3 etc and run all games including COD4 with out any hickups and has been stable for everyday use for over 2 months now.
BUT it will not run orthos even when down clocked to 3.0ghz? which raises the question in my mind is it really that important to be able to run orthos when the system will do everything he wants with out issues?:)

It's very importent that your system is completely stable, if orthos or any other program that stresses your system fails then you have a serious problem somewhere. :(

The thing about Prime is that it will give you peace of mind, that when in 6 months time during the height of summer and ambient temps are nudging 30C that your PC doesn't start falling over and you end up thinking your CPU/RAM is dying.

If your PC can't calculate prime numbers its not doing its job correctly.

Its not computing data.

When running benchies and the like then prime (who cares) but when for a 24/7 setup I need to know that my PC is running with exactly the same stabilty as if it was running stock.
